In December i weighed 225-230 today i weighed in at 167 :ugh:

i am glad i lost the weight, and i didnt do anything crazy to do it, just working out and eating better, but now i have some loose skin around my stomach and ass :o

is there a way to tighten that skin up?

also, i figure the people who would have the most knowledge about this are people who have gone through it. how long does it take for your mind to realize your not fat anymore? i still have the confidence of a fat kid. :hsd:

make an attempt at putting your penis in a vagina (preferably belonging to a woman.. a hot one). If you succeed your confidence will rise. Repeat.

unfortunetely, not really... the only way would be to tighten it back up by filling the void with muscle

surgery is the true alternative, but it aint worth it. just bust you ass to build muscle.

I agree, the procedure would leave a nasty scar.

I have a friend who had the same problem- lost a ton of fat, had never been athletic before that, and despite running and weightlifting after still couldn't get rid of the loose skin. He ended up having to get a tummy tuck :dunno: it may be the only way if it's a ton of loose skin.

But grats on the weight loss :wiggle: good luck.

that scar can't be much worse than the 100 stretch marks already on his stomach, back, love handles, legs, and ass

Congrats on losing the weight! It's hard to stop thinking like a fat kid, but if you get enough compliments your mind starts to change. :o

I wouldn't be so sure. Generally they cut you from hip to hip and remove excess skin from the cut skin before stitching the newly cut skin back together.

I feel your pain man, i was fat all my life. My highest weight was in high school and i was at 336. Now im down to 165 pounds, i have been busting my ass running/riding my bike, eating better and whatnot. I have seen my skin "shrink" somewhat over time, but its going to take a long time, its pretty disgusting what i can do with my body now... surgery might be my only way to fix it. Im very shy and hate my body so it has NEVER seen the sun and have never been to a beach in my life, i hate it. Being formally fat sucks ass

I was almost 240 and got to my lowest point of 156. I have since put on 20 pounds of muscle (i'm 176 now) and I still have the same amount of loose skin I had before. 99% of my loose skin was on my stomach, so obviously getting bigger and putting on muscle won't help me in that area since my waist keeps getting smaller and smaller. It sucks becuase my ab's are rock solid and I can feel a 6 pack under my paper thin loose skin, but you can't see it and unless i'm standing PERFECTLY straight up all the loose skin is hanging and jiggly, it's embarassing :wtc:.

    :werd: :hs:

I think you guys would throw up if you saw what I could do with the loose skin on my stomach. You know you got a lot of loose skin when you can grab your stomach with one hand and pull the skin down to the balls effortlessly.

The funny thing is that you wouldn't even know I had ANY loose skin at all on my when i'm standing up perfectly straight chest puffed out, but the second I sit down it's like all my skin folds onto the tops of my thights, it REALLY sucks and is flat out gross. I have no problem going to the beach or pools or anything, but when I go I always walk with a perfectly straight slightly arched back and I ALWAYS stand, never ever ever sit down in front of people with my shirt off.

When i've got a tight Hanes undershirt on my body looks rock solid and great, but when I take it off it's horrible :wtc:.

Oh well, i'd rather be in great shape with some loose skin and stretch marks, than a fat slob like I used to be.

This is the only time I think I've ever said "You should go for it and get the surgery." You've really busted your ass to get where you are today and you deserve to finally get rid of all that shit!

It will probably tighten up a bit for the next few months. But thats all. After that, you're stuck with what you've got unless you:

    1) Stuff more muscle under that skin.
    2) Have the skin removed.

When I dropped about 100 pounds, I took strategy 1, and it worked everywhere but my belly, which sagged like I had udders when I bent over. I never went with strategy 2, but its not too big a deal to have it done. Just expensive.

I'm probably looking at this in the next 12-18 months. I wonder if it's considered cosmetic in Canada... I mean, I did remove myself as a burden off the medical system in the future.

I should book an appt with my DR and find out.
