Damned dual audio mkvs taking up too much space on my hd
demux and and mux it with out the eng audio... it really doesn't take up that much space though... maybe ~30 MBs per typical ep depending on the encoding.
It adds up though, every mb is precious! What does it mean to demux and mux? /newbness
mkv and ogm are your typical container types for video. demuxing is basically just the process of extracting the audio, video, subs and whatever else and saving them as seperate files. and muxing would be combining them into a single file. it will pile up to be a lot of work... seriously hdds are not that expensive minus whale just pick up one.
you're gonna need to use mkvmerge gui
HDs are 20 cents per gb now....
It's also on principle...fuck dubs
I don't want that shit polluting my hd
is there a way to convert mkv to avi and layer the subs down onto the avi?
extract the subs and reencode the video. waste of time and you'll end up losing quality if you want to keep the same file size.
yeah takes a lot of time to hard encode subs, not worth it unless you really need to.
ps mac needs a better MKV codec or decoder or whatever...
so fucking SLOW
Mkvs are just ftl in general
mkvs are the shit and if your Mac won't play mkvs well, you need a better Mac
