:dunno: is there any way to make it so that if someone "checks" your IP, it comes up as something other than what it really is? anyone who might know how?

The short answer is no. Your IP address is key to you being able to communitcate on the internet. This, however, is why hackers compromise other computers. So their illegal actions cannot be tracked as easy. I'll leave it at that, i don't want this to become a "how do i hack or get away with something" thread.

100% - no, there will always be something that shows you've been there.

99% - Yes, if you really know how, you could make it "almost impossible" to track
