Is there any reason to not work out legs more than once a week?

    i train them twice weekly since I hate recovery pain in my legs so the 2x works best for me.

    I do twice a week I guess, one for max effort and another as jumping/plyometrics.

    I did them 2x a week and it was terrible, probably because I kept the same volume as if I did them 1x a week.

    Nothing worse than having leg soreness and having to walk around campus and up stairs looking like I just got butt-fucked by a rhinocerous the night before. :mamoru:

    there are routines that have you squatting like 4x a week.

    one time a week is OK for me though :o

    you're probably not squatting as much wait though?

    i did some jump squats at the end (just bodyweight) almost couldn't get back up after the second set :rofl::rofl:

    I do legs twice a week, but I split it.

    One day I do pressing movement such as: Leg presses, squats, lunges, straight leg deads, etc...

    The other day I do more isolated movements like extensions, curls, box jumps, calves, etc...
    This day is worked in with shoulders usually.

    my legs suck so i just started doing front squats on arm day in addition to my normal leg day.

    no i mean if you're doing it 4 times a week, you're probably not squatting as much weight as you would in 1 session if you did it once a week

    That's not necessarily true. If you're just starting out, you don't have to wait a week to hit legs. A friend of mine was squatting 3 times a week, going up in weight each time and moved from a shaky 3 sets of 5 @ 195 in the beginning of December to a pretty solid 285 last week.

    On the other hand, when I tried matching his lifting routine it turned out to be too much volume for my legs to handle, so I'm back down to two days a week. It all depends on how far you are with your training.
