Is there any reason to do isolation movements while cutting?

    Pretty much no... you are going to get more bang for your buck using compound movements. Its gonna help the lack of energy thing. Some things I'm sure you can do some iso work on - bi's, abs, etc, but for the most part simple, heavy compounds are gonna work better for you
