A&P Is there any other reason to own an "L" series lens

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Feb 25, 2010.

  1. Other than just bragging rights? :dunno:

Surely there are sharper lenses, and things can be touched up in photoshop :dunno:

Some L lenses are bleh, while some are just unreal.
so it's hit and miss depending on what your shooting range is.

if thats your reasoning, you obviously don't care about quality.

  4. Quality is the time spent on a photo, not the money used to take it with.

L's are the best lenses made by canon. there are more reasons than just the red ring. you are an idiot.

Resale value is also another good reason to buy L's.

you never really own L glass, you merely take care of it for the next generation...

fuck that bullshit, L's get dropped just like any other lens and they usually don't bounce.

L is a professional series lens. Put an L in a armature's hands and it won't do anything.

But seriously..it doesn't matter if you shooting with a Canon, Nikon, L lens, or hole in the box. what matters is how you use the tools you have. You make the photograph great. Not just because there's a red ring around it.

i would say it's pretty close. The quality of RAW files and what you can do these days (with software) is pretty impressive.

the reason to buy L glass, sharpness + contrast (image quality), build quality, and most of them are weatherproof
non L lenses feel like toys
