Is it mandatory for me to buy the dell's brand ink cartridge?? The reason why I'm asking is because it seems like the only way to get the ink cartridge is to buy theirs.

so I'm just wondering, is there any alternatives?? (like a brand I could buy in store, since I pretty much need it now rather than waiting for it to be shipped and mail to me)

prolly all you're gonna see in stores are refill kits. But, never know.... call around.

That's one reason I don't have a Dell printer. The other being that they're rebadged Lexmarks.

It is a toss up, Generic Inks are not good for printers but are cheap.

Paying $50 dollars for a cartridge to a $60 printer is just obscene. I have been in the industry for years and it still gets me that printer cost has been driven down by home users yet the manufacturers still want a huge price for supplies.
