Ok I just did a fresh install of xp pro, installed all the updates, and finally all of my base programs like office, and so on. Is there an easy and prefferably free way to make a restore disk, something that if all goes bad I insert the disk, hit install it formats the drive and installs it like today.

Get True Image. You can download it from Newegg for $31. Definitely worth it.

You can get a 15 day trial directly from Acronis to see if it works for you. Just buy it from Newegg because its $20 cheaper.

    True Image is tits.

You can do a hidden partition that can get you back up in running in just a couple of minutes.

Just take any iso software, make an image of your drive, but you'll probably need a dvdr disc, maybe even dual layer.... or you can do the hiddin partition thing, I find that would be smart to get back up quick, or just search download.com for backup tools.
