Is there a way to set a restore point...

    say my PB crashes and i need to restore it to a certain point. is there a way to set it to restore to a certain date? i want to do it as a precaution incase something happens in the future

    Crashes in what way?

    The restore point in Windows only resets the registry to a certain point in the past. I don't think OSX has a feature like that, but I also don't think it needs a feature like that.

    About the only thing that would cause your data to get completely fucked is actual damage to your HD. 99.9999 times out of 100 on a Mac, it is your software that crashes, not the OS.

    In other words, I wouldn't worry about it. Back up your important data on a regular basis and chill.

    :werd: no such thing and no need for it

    if your OS goes to shit (very unlikely), you pop in the CD and just reinstall that (no reformatting and no losing your home directory)

    if everything else goes to shit, you've got much bigger problems
