The Wii is definitely worth it. Especially if you have people that come over and play games.

Not worth it unless you know friends will be over consistently. It was the first console I got out of the three and I haven't touched it in years - it is modded too.

don't waste your time although I did love the 1st galaxy and will be getting the 2nd one. Its just too much money for a console that will never get used by hardcore gameers

the wiis library of games has grown quite well over the years
if you like solid niche titles, local multiplayer , light gun shooters and nintendos quality franchises like metroid zelda and mario then definately its worth it.

i think its well worth it. ive already sunk about 25 hours into monster hunter tri

you could easily spend a shit load of time between mario kart, smash bros brawl, mario galaxy 1 and 2 when it comes out, tiger woods 10 or 11 when that comes out, monster hunter tri, and the metroid prime games.

modding it is well worthwhile too...i have a bunch of emulated games on mine. the gbatemp forums have good guides on how to mod any wii.

soft mods. seems that softmods are better than hardmods these days anyways. easily updateable, doesnt involve any tinkering with the guts of the machine, etc.

takes about 30 minutes to do once you start.

make sure you have two controller sets and at least 1 motion +. I don't use component cables but I hear good things.

    games I recommend:

Metroid Prime Trilogy (if you can find it)
Red Steel 2 (comes with motion +... if you can get that bundle its cheaper than buying a motion +)
    Mario Galaxy
    Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
    Mario Kart
    Boom Blox: Bash Party
    Monster Hunter Tri
    Tiger Woods PGA tour 10
    Murumasa: The Demon Blade
    Zelda: Twilight Princess

Those should keep you busy for awhile

o you should also get at least a 2 gig SD card for modding purposes, and possibly a rechargable batter set. they sell them in sets of two or four.

as cheap as they are nowadays on CL, i would get one. the mario games alone are worth it to me. especially new super mario bros.

if you go in knowing that you only REALLY want to play a handful of games I say go for it. I bought one over the winter for mainly first party games (SMG, New SMB [fuckin great game, system seller for me], Zelda mostly). Played/beat those. Haven't played it in a while since but with it modded I don't regret it. I went back and forth for a while but finally bit the bullet and bought one.

I wouldn't get one for a primary console though.
