I'd recommend the entire Ultimate Fantastic Four run up until now; the last story wasn't great, however, the art was. The other stuff (except the 2nd arc, but you'll have to read it for establishment of future awesome stories) leading up until then is just great.

Other than that, Ultimates (ultimate avengers pretty much) is incredibly crazy good. Read vol 1 and 2 to current.

Ultimate X-Men was good up until around issue 50, then it went to shit. They're still shit.

Ultimate Spider-Man is overall good; it's consistent and it features the best Spidey artist since Ditko.

edit: Also, Ultimate Power is pretty good so far; it's on issue 4 now. It's Ultimate Universe meets the Supreme Universe.

agreed, the ULTIMATES, NOT THE hero designated ones. just plain ulitimates is a real good read. long... but very good........i believe this is the comic that describes them finding capt. america in a block of ice, and the bring him back. to marvel. good pre civil war stuff!

it's a total re-imagination of captain america. the ultimates have nothing to do with the marvel 616 version of cap (the dead one) or anything with civil war. it's a totally seperate universe.

I'm 28, and I'm pretty much new to comics. My co-workers are about the same ages, and have been serious collectors for a long time.

Anyway, they won't believe me when I rave about the Ultimate universe, lol..

I love it, cause I still have a lot of catching up to do in 616.

The only Ultimate comic I've been reading is "Ultimate Power," which is pretty damn good.

I think it boils down to who you picture as Nick Fury

Samuel L Fury, or David Fury-HOFF

I think the choice is obvious
