I've done web development and graphic design for about a decade now.. my current job is to handle all things relating to the web presence of a large government-owned organisation.. wtf is my title? They're asking me to come up with one.

I help develop the site (though I have a team who does the grunt work like graphics, coding, content, etc).. I keep track of current web-related tech and put case studies together on how we could utilise them, I give input into meetings when an exec/director/etc has internet/web related questions, etc etc..

"Web architect" is the closest job description I can find, but from looking up other "web architects" on Google I can't see it used much in the last 5-6 years.. all the sites are oooold.

They commonly use such terms as "ninja" and "rockstar" when HR people run out of their insufficient ideas nowadays

    Sanitation Engineer? :dunno:

Depending on our PHP developers, we call them "PHP Developers". For our CSS/HTML we call them "Front End Developers". If you do both, go for "Web Developer".

This sounds good. Maybe "Director of Online Development"?

Maybe do some more research on LinkedIn or something for titles.

I think i'll stick to Web Developer. I'm not one for fancy titles anyway.. first trick of working in gov't is to stay BELOW the radar :p

    Web Architect sounds quite snobbish.
Web Innovator sounds much cooler :)
