I could work comfortably in 256 GB, so as far as I'm concerned there is no real benefit to having 500 GB.

Is it worth the $600 to upgrade to SSD in the new MacBook Pro?

How so? Faster access times, better battery life?

I'll get one when the price comes down more... They are just a little too expensive and don't have the capacity I need.

Without knowing what the ssd is in the mbp i cant say.

If you got a 256gb crucial realssd c300 then yes that would be wroth it.

Im in the same boat. I would appreciat an SSD as I do a fair bit of video editing, but can't justify paying the price for one just yet. Also would love to have at least 500gig.
I'll hold off another 2 years when I get a new laptop.

C300 is having a lot of problems. I wouldn't suggest one now.

That was 3 months ago. They are great drives now. The 64GB C300 is likely the best price to performance drive available ATM.
