My company gets a decent discount on Cingular phones and plans. I like the D307 but I don't know if its worth the $179. I don't use enough smartphone-esque feature like email ect to warrant spending money on the Treo ect. I was looking at the RAZR but is it that much better then any of the bluetooth flipphones I can get for free or for less?

I honestly just use the phone for calls and AIM. I want something that won't be completely outdated next week though. If it plays mp3s that's cool too as I haven't done the ipod thing. That's not a necessary feature though.

    Lay it on me.

The RAZR is very overrated. At best it is an ok phone for what it has to offer. The D307 is a pretty big phone. Go to a store and play with it before you commit to buy.

RAZR is great for form factor, just don't expect anything over what it is.

i've had one since december, and have had less problems that my v220. the 220 would crap out on me all the time. also my razr tends to last about 3-4 days depending on how much i talk. it did take a few charge/discharge cycles before the battery started lasting more than a day or two.

The razr is a great phone, and considering u can get it free or even get paid to sign a contract its an even better deal.

I agree, the software is old and slow, if anything just buy it for the coolness factor, although it seems like everyone and their grandma has one now.

Perhaps wait for the new V3i to come out before purchasing.

I like it. I like the camera and video camera. It's very nice and sleek and I like how it's all metal. The keypad feels good to me too.

Personally I like the phone. I haven't found anything bad about it, only that u can only record 90 seconds of video.

In the end I checked out at the store and I think I'll pass on the Razr. Something about the form factor and the feel of it just doesn't sit right with me. After looking through their phones and playing around I think I'll go with the D307 afterall

I like that it has good reception where other phones don't and it's thin. Other than that, it's just like any other phone. Battery seems pretty good (but I don't talk a whole lot.) I am giving it up for the Motorola Pebl though.

I've had one for a week and am selling it. It's a cool looking phone, but it doesn't do it for me. Getting a SE next.

i got a v80 motorola 2 years ago, and the razr is essentially the same thing. nice looking slim case, but absolutely no advance in features whatsoever.

    Another reality apparently
I have had 3 motorola phones in the last 3 years, including a razr.

Every single one of them was buggy as hell. Freezing, turning off randomly, the screen would white out, etc... The razr was the worst, and I turned it in on warrentee 2 times. Each new one I recieved did the same thing.

I just got a new ericcson w600i, and so far so good, but I havent played with it enought yet.

I will never own another motorola phone. Features and looks are great, but if you have a phone you actually plan on using to TALK, then I would get something else.

It's cool but doesn't have as many features as some of the other phones out there. I'm debating between it and the 9800 for my next phone - two totally different packages...

I had, and still have in a drawer, a Moto v600. Meh. I used it for a year, never got used to it. White screen everyonce in a while, battery life sucked. I got a Nokia 6230 now, and like it alot. I have always liked Nokia phones.

Battery life sucks but I like everything else. I'm not a very demanding user though.

I've found just the opposite. I've had a Samsung, Nokia, Siemens and Sony Ericsson and none of the batteries were as good as the razr. I can go 3 days without charging it if I don't talk much.
