This is the breakdown of both.

    ibook:
    12.1"/800Mhz/Combo drive
    Airport card
    256mb ddr266
    30gb hd
    -------------------------
    $1,088.00

    Powerbook:
    12.1" TFT/1Ghz/combo drive
    40gb HD
    Airport Card
    256mb ddr266
    ---------------------------
    $1,488.00

So is the powerbook worth the extra $400? I have a 50gb laptop HD that I will be installing in either one I get and some ram so I'm not worried about the lack of ram or HD space I'll be getting. It's going to be mainly for school but also some home use.

    i can't decide :(

Is the PowerBook a G4 and the iBook a G3? If so, I'd go for the PowerBook, a G4 is a lot faster than a G3.

Also, are you sure that a regular laptop hard drive can be installed in an Apple laptop? I'm not saying it can't, just not sure :dunno:
