obviously the magazine size is a plus for the m4, but how is the accuracy between the two? the m4 a lot lighter and easier to maintain? m4 a lot easier to field strip?

I have seen the m1 grand field strip and it looks very easy.

2 different weapon designs. The M4 is more suited for close quarters battles in tight spaces. the M1A is a battle rifle designed for longer range and better penetration. I wouldn't like to take a Garand into an apartment complex with small halls and I wouldn't like to take an M4 into a wide open area where I need range or I need to shoot through barriers. (unless it was a model chambered in .308)

lol, I wouldn't want to run around with a Garand in Iraq.

It wouldn't be good for close in fighting and rapid fire.

the M4 is totally different imo. it has 3rd burst or semi auto capability. smaller round which tumbles in the body, however it isnt as lethal as the .30

the M4 is great for close quarters and can hold its own down range. i believe its 500m for a point target and 800m for an area target
