Not that I'm aware of. He may be thinking of the auto transmissions used in the V6 Accord and V6 Acura sedans of the late 90s, which are notorious for having problems.

Civics with autos suck anyway, the transmission saps a big chunk of power and fuel mileage suffers too.

definitely...civics don't have much power to begin with but then you make it an auto and you've got a creaper.

plus, manual trans. civics are much more fun to drive

Civics have as much power as any NA domestic economic car with the only difference that Civics are way easier to tune, and are overall way better made cars.

Not counting the fact that most NA cars are autos and they are super fucking slow. If you place Civics in that range, Civics are still faster (manual Civics of course)

the thing that civics lack is torque...thats why I say they don't have much power. The Si and GSX/Type-R were the best civics made and even they didn't have a whole lot of power (160-195hp/113-125tq)

Yes, and other cars with that level of power also suck ass when paired with an automatic. Your point? It's not a knock against the Civic.

Integra GSX/Type-R...it's pretty much a civic internally.

when I had my auto civic it was a chugger, slow and wasn't too fun to drive. But the transmission never gave me any problems.
