I've worked with SQL interacting with an Oracle8 database for a while. Now, I need to make a web site that uses PHP & MySQL. Is it really that much different?

It's not that much different, but different. :) It's mostly syntax and MySQL lacks some of the more advanced triggers. Your problem probably won't be SQL, but PHP. Do you have any PHP experience?
