I honestly can't find anything out there. I owned an *ist DL back in the days, but haven't shot since. I owned a D40, but definitely needed a little more MP for some cropping room. I've never shot a Canon, but have messed around with them. I feel like the Pentax models have held up to a great build and offer sensor stabilization vs the XTI that's not going to give me either one of these options. My main concern is going to be sharpness, color reproduction, and price. I haven't seen the K200D in person, so I have no idea of how the viewfinder is. I have seen and held the XTI and wasn't very impressed with the build and viewfinder.

If you're in this situation, mainly going to be shooting macro pictures, what would you choose?

first off, your megapixel arguement is full of holes. shit actually, full of shit.

Pentax is good, but their glass is more limited than Nikon or Canon.

And in all reality, the body you get is disposable. It's the glass that matters.

Just like you had to upgrade from the *ist, you'll have to upgrade from whatever body you decide to buy. But you'll keep the glass.

FWIW, I *really* liked the k10d and the k20d is even better. But I went nikon because the glass was better.

i like the new olympus zukio lenses more than pentax. however im not saying they are bad in any way. the bodys are nice and compact compared to nikon or canon.

Depends on what you're comparing to.

14MP vs. 12MP is completely insignificant. Even 14MP vs. 10MP isn't much of a resolution increase. I.e. it's baaarely going to give you more room for cropping. You need 4 times the MP to get twice the resolution.
