i've had my computer for a couple years now and know its time for a new one. my monitor seems to be losing color and has faint gray lines goin horizontally across in about 10 spots. no one has messed with the settings or anything? how long till it just stops working?

    crt i take it?

chances are any one of the tubes inside or a combination of them are going bad. When you start to see your moniter turn a shade of all one color (green, yellow, etc) that's a sure sign they are going to shit.

I'de just keep it till it completely dies.
