You suck...but that is besides the point. What is back focusing exactly? Kinda looks like the focus point was the top flower bud. :dunno:

if its not shot on a tripod, with mirror lockup or remote, than the test is basically worthless.

shoot a flat board or card or something with text at 45º and wide open and you're easily see if its front or back focused.

you can't rule out shutter error, you said you used flash, and you have a 1/200 sync, which means that you probably shot it at 1/125, under the handholding rule of 1/longest focal length.

It would be front focus and no back focus regardless, its focused infront of your target, not behind

The only way we will really ever know if it was true back focusing is if you post another picture of your gear.... :o

    oh iono :dunno:

i was jp i read the exif

and used the dof calculator to figure the dof,

but i figured it was shot 200mm f/4 before i checked exif because all newbs with new lenses shoot them hand held wide open to determine sharpness :mamoru:

Most intellegant thing said on OT ever.

There may be a problem, but too many people on dpreview etc accuse every lens they own of being bad cause of mostly user error
