Yea so there's these guys doing DL the other day and by looking at their form, it was massively different from mine. A couple things to note though:

    1) They were wearing belts, I don't wear a belt
    2) They were DLing 375 x6, I only do 225 on my last set (x4-6):greddy:

Are they right? It just seems to me that they could hurt their back doing this :hs:

actually, he gets straight up too, so NM the fact that his legs are a little bent. The point is that he is bending the fuck over so his back is parallel with the ground.....

    Am I right? Wrong? Retarded?

are you talking about on the way down or up?

if they just kinda drop it down it doesn't matter. if you are talking about start to top, then the bottom right image on the left side seems closer to proper form

my up/down is the same movement basically. I try to keep my back as straight as possible the whole time, pressing with my legs...

whereas he uses his back almost exclusively (sp)

he may have been doing Stiff leg deadlifts or romanian deadlifts.. or just using that kind of form for regular deadlifts

as long as your lower back remains straight just keep at it. looks like what you're doing is fine

What's the difference between the two? Is one 'better' than the other or do they just work separate parts of the back?

    different

SLDLs are primarily for hamstrings and glutes

    deadlifts are primarily for back
