nope, in fact it's exactly the same as the current release.
[this statement is good until 6:00pm EDT]
On the surface there isn't a huge difference but under the hood it is VERY different. Look forward to see what developers are able to do with it.
there are little things here and there that make it a little quicker and more user friendly. but a lot of the changes are under the hood.
if you're going by what you see, it's nothing life changing.
A bunch of things you could do in Tiger with third party apps are now built in and because apple built them in, they are sexy as fuck.
Best multi desktop interface I've ever used.
expose + hot corner for spaces =
Isn't it unix certified or something? What ever that means.
the transparency of windows suck!
yes the difference is very obvious, its smoother faster, the visual tweaks make a world of difference, time machine is great, but the downloaded version didnt really work for me.
time machine is going to rock
I like it.
and I'm not going to use time machine. manual backups FTW?
i love it.
Like what they will take advantage of? Is that what you are asking? Hell I am interested to see what they do with Core animation. Sure it is bells and whistles but isn't that what you are asking about?
Isn't Time Machine a nice showcase of it
UNIX certified (Link Here)
true 64 bit system with true 32 bit backwards compatibility
multiple core processors are better utilized
better root level/system wide secuirty (can't buffer overflow for example)
network use and sharing is better optimized
finder has been optimized
there are all things you won't see at all, but the effects they cause are huge.
Well wasn't sure what he was asking......how developers were going to take advantage of what was new under the hood or how they were going to make it pretty.
Good things are to come that is for sure
it keeps opening 2 last.fm apps when i open itunes
What do you use? I use iScrobbler and don't have any problems.
i dont know it just says last.fm and has a red circle with AS in it i think
hmmm... I deleted two things in my downloads folder, but they still show up in the stack.
get iscrobbler, its better.
The only thing i see thats going to make it to the end user is core animation. (And 64bit) Dont really see how the rest will affect the general users.
Thats exactly what im asking. How will it affect the regular users like me, who just use the OS as an OS....
Thats the point there are things like core animation to make the third party apps pretty plus the HP like 64bit to make them run better.
I don't know what more a regular user needs
What are you looking for? Wow?
where are these transparent windows? The only thing transparent I'm seeing is the tool bar up top and the menus up there.
