I have a TiBook G4 1GHz with 512 MB of ram (2x256). I'll probably be seriously considering a MBP in 6-9 months, but in the meantime I was thinking about maxing out my RAM from 512 to 1024. Since I have to buy both sticks and I probably wouldn't bother selling the old ram, I figure it will probably be about $200.

It's kinda sluggish but I don't lean on it too much. Typically I do some basic web, email, and office work with it. Sometimes I play World of Warcraft, although I usually do that on my iMac G5.

I'd probably just suffer with the 512mb ram it has now, and put that money towards the MacBook Pro. Doesn't sound like you're doing anything too complex on it. :dunno:

Yeah 200 is alot to spend for a mild performance increase... Maybe not so mild in more extensive tasks, but you probably wont see much increase to justify 200 dollars. Just put it towards the mbp (if you really want a POS that bad)
