    ...to go from 64megs video memory to 128megs video memory on a Powerbook?

    Is it worth it if you don't plan on using an Apple display?

    Everyday stuff: Internet, iTunes, Music production.

    Once and a while: Some gaming, photoshop, dvd production.

    I don't know, I have the 128 but I don't have anything to compare it to.

    i'd say yes. It won't matter what you end up doing, its still a good idea.

    you cant upgrade later so i'd get it. if you buy online use a student discount (even if you arent one) and the upgrade will only be $90.

    Which is what I planned on doing, since I can't get the video upgrade at the store. But that still doesn't mean I'll get the student discount.

    they asked to see my student ID (which I had, so no big deal).

    But first of all, you prolly need your ID, and secondly, if you didn't, don't cheat em... The sudent discount is a service they offer -- it's not something you should take advantage of.

    my mom bought all of our machines at once. all she did was give them a school for each purchase and she received the discount. they won't try to verify your information if you do it all through the website.
