I have lost 4kg in just over 3 weeks. I havent been eating much becasue of a lost appetite after breaking up with my ex gf. Under a fair bit of stress as well. Im going to start the p90x program at the start of next month but im just worried that it may be unhealthy to loose weight so fast?

9lbs in 3 weeks? Yeah that's a little more than normal. Also, why don't you start now instead of next month?

If you weighed 300 pounds, no. If you weighed 150 pounds to start, yes. Half that could be water weight anyways.

Im still waiting for it to turn up in the post - seems to be taking longer than it should. Youre right though, will start as soon as it turns up.

How does water weight work? im 96kg, with a BMI of 27.5. Got a bit of weight to loose

Your lost weight sounds adequate. You sound like you're losing a fair amount of water weight, but its not anything to worry about. Most of it should be actual body weight.

You're going to hit a huge initial loss, but it will eventually level out to a slower progression.

I spent 10+ years as a wrestler. I've got weight loss down to a T. I guarantee I know my shit.

Cool. i would like to get back to down to about 80kg and bulk up. This weight loss wasnt deliberate - but it definately helps! Is there an easy way to loose excress water stored in the body?

From a healthy standpoint and if you are serious about it, you can easily get down to that in 6 weeks at 27.5% body fat

Don't worry too much about water weight. There are tricks you can do to cut a lot quick but it doesn't change the fact you still have a lot of fat to lose. I've found I start to lose water as I eat healthier, then if I have a cheat day I can weigh 3-4 pounds more the next day because the salt and crap in what I ate makes me retain water.

You really can't count water weight in any circumstance. I'm 158bs and I fluxuate +/- 6lbs per day depending on my workout and food schedule. Weight loss is person specific and there are too many variables to issue one standard rule.

    This.

I know that when I was cutting, I'd drop say 3 lbs a week or 1.5 weeks, but then bounce back up 3 lb after 2 days if I cheated (ie. carbs + sodium = water weight).

My weight fluctuates by about 9 lbs every single day. Even within the day, I end up weighing about 6 lb less at midnight then at 11 am after breakfast and a snack.

haha. nah nothing like that. just eating much less becasue of lost appetite. Consumption of fluids has increased quite a lot. Definately not starving myself. Just out of curiosity - what is the fastest way to reduce body fat? I guess i will find out pretty quickly when my p90x kit turns up :)
