is gomi going to ufc?
has anyone else heard this shit?
Tell me it ain't so....
He has stated recently that he wants to fight GSP, Hughes, Sherk, and Penn. I think that Pride might send him over to UFC, it would be a good move on their part.
Although Pride said they would give Gomi the ok to fight in UFC it will never happen. Kind of like how Wanderlei was supposed to fight Chuck. The UFC wouldn't risk having someone from an outside organization come in and beat their champ. Also the two companies seem to refuse to do business with each other.
Those are some big names to be taking on, especially since he's a little guy isn't he? Fights at 155?
penn rematch imo
Sounds more like this will be in talks forever, before any contracts are signed.
where did you see this?
"Daily Sports reports in their Tuesday newspaper that Takanori Gomi has been given the “go-sign” by DSE to fight in UFC. In the pro-DSE report by DS, the paper claims that PRIDE will have Gomi fight on their 2/24 Las Vegas event and then send him into UFC as a PRIDE fighter to “make a raid on UFC” and overthrow UFC 155-pound champion Sean Sherk and fight BJ Penn. Unlike Mirko Cro Cop (who is fighting as a true UFC fighter), the paper claims that DSE will be Gomi’s booking agent for any fights in UFC. "
Gonna be hard to take on a large 170 like Hughes or GSP then for him.
gomi cant fight hughes../.
You hang from Penn's balls too much. He wore out Gomi the first time around but a rematch will be a tight battle, it won't be a beatdown. Either guy has an equal chance. imo.
He wont beat Penn
Sherks capable of beating him in the cage but I doubt it.
Matt Hughes is a freakishly strong 170lber
GSP is also a huge, strong 170lber
sherdog scource... ill wait till a RELIABLE scource has more info, thx.
why cant gomi beat penn? its not like penn's improved, he's probably gone down. Gomi's been protected but i think he's improved
160, and gomi's big for a LW
one of the "sources" of this rumor is Zach Arnold, who has little to no credibility when it comes to breaking MMA news
I thought Gomi cut about 20-25lbs to make weight. I was wondering if he could make the 155 class, because he's always looked pretty big for 160.
