Is it the motherboard, PSU, or vid card?

I recently moved and my computer booted up fine after I set it up. I restarted it, and it made the signature beep: one short three long and did not output any video. I checked and rechecked and rechecked everything and it was fine. Reseated the ram and the video card, reset the CMOS, etc. Now, it won't post at all, no beeps or anything. The fans start, the LED on the motherboard lights up green, and the HD spins, but the computer will not post.

I'm thinking that since I get no beep codes, it's more than likely the MB. But it could also be the PSU, although I doubt it.

    What do you assholes think?

Nope. Took the vid card out, one stick of ram, both sticks of ram, and nothing. No beeps.

you tried one stick of ram,... did you try the other stick?
try new ones or a known working stick from a diff pc.
    try reseating the cpu/heatsink too

Yeah because that's the BIOS that I have. Thanks dumbass!

Anyway, if I'm not getting ANY beep codes at the moment, I don't see how that can be anything other than the motherboard. I have tried all types of combinations with the vid card, ram, stripped it down to barebones, etc. just to try to get the motherboard to give a beep code, but nothing.

well,.. you really can't say that the mobo is dead specially if its LEDs and fans (plugged to mobo fan headers) are working.

    what I would do,...

    1. take out the mobo from the case, place it on top of a wood or any anti-static surface to rule out grounding issues
    2. inspect visually, check for bulging capacitors, burns, etc. might as well clean dusts, etc.
    3. reset cmos, remove/replace cmos battery if you have to.
    4. reseat cpu/heatsink
    5. if applicable, check pc speaker if hooked up properly.
    6. hook up psu, 1 stick of known working RAM. I wouldn't use the RAM you have.
    7. power on and see if it will beep.

you could also try a different cpu or power supply.

if all of those fail,.... only then I'd call it a dead mobo.

Yes, I like how that thread got locked as soon as the mods started to really get called out for not doing their jobs. What's that old saying about power and corruption?
