Ok... see... I turned 22 in september, bfd right? About half-way though sept though, I started losing weight. I was at a horrible 297, and hated it. But I didn't really do anything about it.

Fast forward, it's 1/23/06... I weigh 265 lbs. I can still eat like a king, and I'm just losing weight. I excercise a little more, but not much. I'm active, early morning classes, breakfast, and I have a job where I move a good bit. But I had that job last July too......

I've gotten into a relationship with a girl, 4 months now, I don't know if positive emotions can lead to weight loss either.

But I guess i'm just curious why all of a sudden it seems like I have a metabolism.

Cliffs: was HUGE (297) now not, (265) and mysterious metabolism kicks in

Could be loss of lean mass depending on how "active" active is for you and what your diet looks like.

Seems like too much weight to just be fat.

diet isn't horrible... I've replaced all sodas and sugar drinks with water and 100% juices. I eat a good amount of healthy things, turkey, veggies, I'd say I eat healthyly, but still in decent quantities.

Activity includes walking to class, and walking, well, much more than a mile a day at work, climbing... 250+ stairs every day as well.

How many sodas did you drink before? Was your diet always this clean? I used to drink a shit ton of dr pepper and stuff like that as well as had a horrible diet, probably 4000 dirty calories a day with normal activity but no exercising...switching to just drinking water and eating a clean 1500 diet was a night and day difference, even without exercise i probably would've lost a lot from that alone. With lifting and jogging 3 miles a day i've lost 40 lbs in...3 months or so now i guess. Diet makes a HUGE difference.

I think I drank like, 3-4 sodas a day plus a bunch of sugary drinks and shit... now its just water and that 100% juice, which I believe is good, even with all the natural sugars...

I eat prolly... 1800 cals a day now. ish...

Active lifestyle + calorie deficiency = weight loss.

count them for a few days and see, 1800 isn't shit for someone who is active and if you are actually getting that few, that's why you've lost weight.

Good for you, man. One thing to remember though. While juices would be better than drinking a pop, they are still very calorically dense, and are relatively empty calories. Seems like you're doing fine, so keep it up!

yeah, I dunno though... its weird cause I stick to the same foods, but check this out...

from 297 lbs until 275 lbs I drank juices... then I ran out and was too college poor to buy more...

I stayed at 275 for like 3 weeks...

I started drinking juice again (mom bought me more and I got them when I went home :)) and now I'm losing weight again, down to 265 (lowest in 4 years)

    I just can't explain it

    better question:

why do you still eat like you did at 295 instead of dieting so you can not be fat?

I don't know really... I think I eat the same, maybe I eat less portion wise.
