    If you're not a lil emo bitch, it shouldn't be a problem......honestly.

i find that good sex makes a relationship harder to get over than a relationship where the sex wasnt as good.

"lil emo bitch" .. because having emotions somehow makes you less of a person... uhhh.

for men, or atleast for myself, good sex is part of being emotionally involved in someone.

been there, done that.... it wasnt really good sex though..

i think to have really amazing sex you need to be physically attracted to someone.

pretty much all of the girls i've had sex with besides 2 of them have just been random chicks with little to no emotional attachment... pretty much all of it sucked. I can for sure say it was the very best with the 2 girls that i actually did have an emotional attachment too...

some of the random girls were really good, but then when its all over it always leaves me with a sort of empty feeling which kinda ruins how good the sex is/was.

for me, sex is always better when there is an emotional attachment. dont have to be in love, or even dating, but friends and have to like and respect the other person. :dunno:

(this is my hypothesis based on my experience)

For a guy, the less physically attracted to the woman you are, the easier it is to not get emotionally attached.

The trick is finding someone you're attracted enough to to have sex with, but not so hot that you'd consider her for an LTR (obviously I'm implying that one of the criteria for an LTR is being attractive).

For reference, every girl I've had sex with, with one exception, has been an LTR. The LTRs were very attractive, and I was very emotionally involved with them. The one girl I slept with who was not an LTR was decent looking, but not super hot. It was basically FWB for 6 months and then she pushed for a relationship and I made up some excuse about "being too busy for a relationship right now" (which is obviously BS, because as we all know, when the right person comes along you make time; there is no such thing as "too busy for a relationship" when the right person is involved), so she ended it. Anyway, I realized after the fact that I had developed a bit of emotional attachment to her, but I think that's cuz we were hooking up for 6 months or so so emotional attachment will generally develop over that time frame.

Remember that "emotional involvement" is a result of chemicals in your brain, and part of what releases certain chemicals is physical attraction. Read this post for more info on the chemicals involved: http://forums.offtopic.com/showpost.php?p=80436524&postcount=8

I think so, that's why I've never been capable of a one night stand. But I'm one of those ridiculous prudes who believes that sex is the physical expression of love and should be treated as such...

check out the bold here, folks. but there's the drill for me:

she can be a 4/10 or a 10/10; that part doesn't matter. it's easy to have sex with a girl and not get hung on her when you realize that she can't count to ten without stopping for directions. not having enough to form the personal bond that makes long term relationships work is what makes no strings attached sex great. you are still physically attracted to that person, hence the physicality of the relationship. but if you have nothing in common, then it's not going to go any further than bouncing each others heads off the headboard every few days.

but having someone in your life to fulfill that role for you isn't a terrible thing either.

:werd: I could never have sex with someone if we didn't have an emotional connection. I really wouldn't want to be any other way either because i see no point in casual sex.

Sex is sex. Sometimes people are not comfortable having sex without knowing they can "keep" the person having sex with them, which is usually what they mean that "sex is the physical expression of love". That is a shame. Since having casual sex with someone does not magically disable you from having loving, emotionally involving sex later on, the advantages of not having casual sex = 0, the disadvantage is that you are missing out on another way to enjoy yourself. It's not a major disadvantage, it's akin to being allergic to a certain kind of food. I fortunately have no allergies

It feels good if it's with someone I'm dating. Otherwise it's just empty and not that great

I think it was Groucho Marx that said, "When sex is good, it's really good and when it's bad, it's still pretty good." :)
