I bought a Tmobile MDA for cheap, but I'm on the Cingular network. The phone is working fine, but I wanted to update the firmware to the Cingular 8125. Do you think there would be any conflicts?

    **Update**

Doesn't work, so don't try it.

It should work as long as you unlock it first :dunno:

Just toss the generic firmwre on there...why would you want Cingular junk on it? or any provider for that matter.

I would love to get my MDA back, and use it w/ Cingular. I hate this LG CU500 crap...

Question is, what data plan are you using and is there a "cheaper" alternative, similar to using the T-MobileWeb or BB data plan w/ Cingular? I'd really love to have AIM/web browsing/Email at the palm of my hands again, but the Cing. data plans scare me away.
