Is it okay to have my protein shakes in skim milk?

    My personal trainer tells me I need to have them in water, but protein shakes in water are just incredibly bad. Chocolate protein powder in skim milk tastes just like chocolate milk, but chocolate protein powder in water tastes like something specifically made to induce vomiting or something it's so bad :rofl:.

    I've tried vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and a few other flavors and they all taste great in skim milk and all taste horrible in water.

    Is it OKAY if I have them in skim milk as opposed to water? Will my progress really be slowed down by drinking them in skim milk like my trainer told me?

    Yes, but i always drink it with water post-workout.

    actually the carbs in the milk would be more beneficial for you post workout then water would be.

    but if your drinking 3-4 a day the milk will add a lot of extra calories now its up to you weather thats good or not.

    Yeah, i'm drinking 3-4 a day, so I guess my trainer was right and I should stick to water. I only put in 4 ounces of water/milk though when I make the protein shakes, so it's not that much at all.

    Jesus christ if you're only using 4 ounces of milk and having 4 shakes a day, that's 16 ounces of skim milk, A WHOPPING 160 CALORIES!!!!!!!

    mootopia skim, with 14g protien and 4g carbs per cup, for the win.

    i use skim chocolate milk or half skim choco and half skim reg

    mmm since ive joined here ive seen most people regard personel trainers too be stupid.. lol

    a full glass of milk 2% + 2 scoops for just ar egular shake.

    add a tbsp of olive oil, 2 tbsp of nattypb. yemyem

    no way he has a shake with 1/2 a cup of milk, it would barley be wet.

    ^try fat free/lowfat/skim milk. i used to drink whole, but after forcing myself to drink fat free, i got used to it. went from whole > reduced > low > free


    its ok to have skim milk with ur protein shake...but it would really vary what your trying to achieve. if i were cutting cals, id go half water/half skim milk to even out the bad tatse.

    If your doing an Atkins type diet, you can use some heavy cream mixed with water instead of the milk.
