    [IMG]?
    The image is a link that links to Google, or is this not ok?

    Or can anyone recommend a way to draw a good map? Line tool like crazy?

    I'd say just use Google Map's API so you can have Google Maps and this location on your site. If not, I don't see a problem screenshotting Google Maps and using it. I've seen that done on so many sites.

    you have to geocode to use google's API. take a look at yahoo's API, it is much easier for noobs

    Code:
    # style the map size here
    <div class="event_map" id="map_-613781318" style="width:550px;height:250px;margin:auto"></div>

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var map = new YMap(document.getElementById("map_-613781318"));
    function startMap(){
    	map.addTypeControl();
    	map.addZoomLong();
    	map.addPanControl();
    	map.drawZoomAndCenter("Address or coordinate to center map on", 4);
    	map.addMarker("Seahawks Stadium, Seattle");
    }
    window.onload = startMap();
    </script>

    I never understood the whole google API stuff.

    go to google maps.
    search for the shit you want to show up
    goto: Paste HTML to embed in website
    copy/paste on your page.

    play around with the obvious stuff like the height/width to make it look good.

    done

    :dunno:

    i wouldn't use those effects which you've used for the trails.

    Same with the giant footprints.

    Everything needs to be the same size. On a map, you'd never see 1 road thicker then another.... unless the road itself it wider.

    Keep a format / color theme going.

    If one road is yellow, make sure the other roads are yellow... You can even try making the trail a brown line.

    Throw in a small legend somewhere in there

    Highways are yellow on Google maps? The only road I changed was making the park red.
    I'm changing the car, feet, shopping cart to black, removing text and putting it into a legend. I think it looks a little cleaner now.

    EDIT:

    the first pic where you blurred out the camp name... i thought that was your "effect" which was supposed to symbolize some trail or something
