i don't use it. i don't like how it organizes my photos and most of my pictures look like crap on my macbook, unless they are 4+ megapixels. i got used to just using windows explorer to organize all my photos and i hardly do any editing.
according to this article it uses up a little chunk of space

i'm wondering if i delete it, will it cause any trouble? i believe preview will still function, thats all i need.

how would i go about deleting it? also, if i wanted it back, how would i do that?

you can delete it if you want. open the applications folder, then drag iPhoto to the trash and empty. it's that simple. if you need it back in the future, there's a program to extract separate applications from your OS X cd's. I'l see if i can get the name for you

    different question, related to iphoto.

How do you edit the iphoto autoplay settings? I looked around in preferances and couldn't figure out how to prevent iphoto from starting automatically when I insert any media with picture files on it.

I'd like to know this as well. It annoys me to no end that every time I insert my camera's memory card, iPhoto opens

I've got everything in iPhoto disabled to not do anything automatically. However, the one thing I need iPhoto for is I've got a few digital camera's I've used of friend's that don't open on the desktop as a removable drive, but appear in iPhoto.

when i imported all my organized photos from my windows machine, it organized them all wierd. it set them by the year taken, then it broke some of them up into roll #s and other ones into the folders that they were in on my windows machine.

most of my photos look either very tiny or shitty quality on the macbook screen because of the screen resolution and having the majority of my pix <2 megapixels

while talking of photo, how do I disable the annoying music while viewing pics in front-row?

iphotos organization system is analagous to itunes. rather than artist/album/song, its year/month/day. its really that simple, and if you open the preferences you can adjust how it sorts, the background color of your thumbnails, etc etc.
