didn't the automatic weapons ban expire?
The ban on new manufactured automatic weapons for civilian purchase is still in effect since 1986 and has no expiration date.
Any thing registered pre-1986 is fair game.
The "assault weapons" ban expired.
Full-auto is legal to own with the right paperwork and a fat wallet.
The ones i've seen are like 15k plus, like buying a damn car.
Meh, you can buy a Mac for $3k or an M240 for $300k.
Whatever tickles your fancy.
Fully automatic weapons were banned due to all the bullshit that was happening in Florida (especially Miami) due to the power of the cocaine trade. A bunch of legislators made themselves look good by banning the legal sale of firearms.
Yet surprisingly enough they're still used just as much by criminals.
really? these are banned from civilians?
I didn't mention the pre-86 grandfathering since it'd already been mentioned in the thread.
My coworker is trying to sell a mac 11 for $5000. He traded a glock for it several years back.
Is this a joke re: the M16?
"Would make a great shooter or wall hanger"
Sure, let me just take $15K and nail it to the wall
You'll be surprised. Ive been to peoples houses where they'd have $100k plus in MGs just for display.
Personally, Im all about shooting the shit out of it.
Here in WA state, the only NFA items we're allowed to possess are AOW's and supressors. Here's where it gets REALLY stupid: We can own supressors, even attach them to a barrel, but cannot USE them.
I never understood why that was. Drive down to Oregon to use them
yeah, pretty stupid IMO
If I had a spare 11k that would be the first thing I bought.
