Is it important to be able to touch type numbers?

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by Jimmy Jockstrap, Aug 26, 2007.

  1. I can do the other parts like Capitals?,; but cant touch type numbers.

Is it important to learn. Does it slow down your letter typing speed because you are reaching keys that are less comfortable.

It really isn't hard... Use the numpad and you'll get it asap. Whether or not it is important is all about what kind of work you are doing. For most work it will make no difference at all (most people can't touch type anyways). I suppose some sort of data entry job may require you to be able to enter numbers quickly, but apart from that :dunno:

The only people that I have seen use ten key any more is office managers and bank personel.

I use the numpad all the time. It's so much faster than the number row.

10-key can be a very important skill -- also among the easiest to learn.
