Some of you may have seen my post about needing a new vid card. My current GF2 is screwing up. Whenever I try to do anything be it a shockwave game or something using OpenGL or D3D, it will freeze up, let me move for 2 secs, then freeze up again. Is it just FUBAR, or is there anything I can do to fix it so I don't have to buy a new card?

EDIT: I've tried drivers and whatnot so don't suggest that :hs:

How do I find out if it's overheated? The rest of the stuff on that list is okay.

So basically if it tries to do anything that would require the card to do any work it fucks up? Then it's the onboard graphics chip or the drivers. You've tried everything you can on your computer, the only other thing you can do is try the card on another computer. If you can get it working then it's your drivers.

I've tried every driver known to man. Now when I try to play CS it doesn't even do the freezy thing. It just makes a huge ass blur and freezes up the comp to where I have to reboot. I'm on XP with latest nvidia drivers btw.

I'm not saying you haven't done everything on your part to get it to work, I'm just stating that if the card works on another computer, and your card used to work on your computer, it HAS to be driver related.

Yeah I know you weren't faulting me or anything but I've tried so many drivers from old nvidia ones to the newest nvidia ones to third party ones and nothing seems to help. It's a good idea to put it in another box, now if only I had a different comp to test in.
