Going in for touchups on a couple spots my artist wasn't happy with and was curious as to whether i should tip him or not.

Some customers do and some don't. It's really up to you.

You can offer. I always offer my usual artist but he turns them down. I already tip really well when he does work though, so maybe that's why...

If you tipped well and paid full price for his time initially I'd say no, you shouldnt be expected to tip him to fix his mistakes. If, however, they're touchups because of poor upkeep or foreign object damage then yes by all means you should tip him.

:ugh: Touchups aren't always cause of mistakes, poor upkeep or "foreign object damage". Some areas are just harder to heal than others and the pigment doesn't take as well.

When I got mine done I was told to come back in about a month so he could see how it looked and would do a touch up if needed. I didn't tip because I had given him a good amount when I got it done, and its customary at that shop to do one touchup soon after to make sure the color held well.

Neat, if you'd get your head out of your ass and read what I had posted you'd probably infer that I was comparing what is in the artists control as opposed to what isn't. Good job.
