What should I build with this guy? I was thinking about an AR pistol but that's apparently a huge pain in the ass if you live in CA...

Dedicated 22? Hold on for 2 years and make an SBR? What do ya think WMD?

Light build with a red dot is fun

This could be fun. I have an HBAR upper on my current build and it's not exactly super light

Being in illannoy I'm stuck to a 16" barrel with a midlength gas system but if I were going to be moving to a free state where I could get a sbr soon I'd build a lightweight 16" carbine gas barrel and then have it chopped to like 10" for a sbr post-move.

I;m in the same boat. I go to school in CA and have 2 more years till I graduate. After that, I will be off to a free state. So I could theoretically make an SBR now and leave it with my parents in CO...but where's the fun in that?

I haven't even gotten a chance to fire the CMMG conversion kit you sent me yet  I am gonna hit the range tomorrow morning and see how it works. I'm not anticipating any issues though.

A dedicated .22 might be fun...that way I don't have to deal with a bullet button or any of that other shit since it's rimfire...plus I could sell the convert kit to my buddy.

How much hooking up are we talking here? Am I going to have to send you noods again? Because that last set really demoralized me....

Well I've been selling them to phrozen but he was sort of disappointed with the last set...not degrading enough. We're thinking you'll have to go to a dairy farm for the next one....:naughty:

I'm thinking of buying a 10.5 upper. I wonder how that works with the free lower.

The site says "any upper" so I would assume you get a free lower....

I'm more worried about the atf. I suppose I could have the upper sent to my parents so they can store it in their safe.

I want one of their new switchblock uppers, but they're not out yet :wtc:

Ah, constructive intent laws? Yeah, not sure how that'd work unless you took delivery of the lower first, left the upper at the dealer and waited for the paperwork to clear. Unless you're building a pistola.

You don't. My dad lives in CO. He is going to pick it up from the dealer then I am going to fly back and get it. FTF transfers don't need any paperwork in CO and there are no importation laws for rifles in CA, so it's all good

Fwiw what you've proposed here is illegally federally unless you are a resident of CO or you pick up the lower from the ffl.

I am a resident of CO. My dad legally gets the lower from the FFL and gives it to me (or sells it to me for $1). FTF transfers don't require going through an FFL in CO. I bring it back with me to my temporary residence in CA.
