is it acceptable to drink at all and expect to see gains?

    Lets say I only get drunk like 2 or 3 days per week, as opposed to every night like I am now? Would I be better off to drink liquor over beer in this respect?

    less is better...I'd shoot for 1-2 days if you could, it makes it all the better- line it up with your cheat meal day for extra fun :)



    What I've started doing is to drink stuff as fast as I can...so if I want to be wasted, i just drink a 6 pack as fast as I possibly can instead of drinking 20-25 beers over the night. If the drunkeness goes away, take a shot...for hard alcohol its the mixers that fuck you.

    i drink twice a week and i've been dieting and i'm losing BF fine, tehe.

    as far as gains go, me and my friend notice a huge difference the less we drink.

    alcohol is fine, generally i save it for special occasions though. Its a lot better that way anyway

    It won't kill your progress, but it's sure as hell not going to help you though. Don't bother with thinking liquor is better, it's not. The carbs are in the alcohol. I would suggest 1x a week if that. Personally I put on a lot of size drinking a 12 pack 7 days a week, but all good things come to an end. I just can't do it anymore. You'll be better off all around if you limit it to 1x a week, not only in how you look but in every other aspect of your life as well. I'm guessing your in college though, in which case you're going to do it anyway. Hell I would too. I used to lift drunk in college. Just don't put yourself into a possition where it's a problem to stop when you get out, frequently take a week or 2 weeks off. If you can't, you've already got a problem.

    I know tons of people bigger than me that drink on the weekends. They continue to gain also. I drink once a month if that. Not to get drunk usually 1-2 bars is plenty. If you are serious you probably shouldn't drink, but you only live once so unless you are competing no need to be so serious.

    please don't EVER use the term "cheat meal" again.

    To the original poster, if you have to ask about something being bad for your lifting and gains, it most likely is. Just use your head, if you are that worried that drinking is going to mess you up, don't do it at all. If not, then drink like you normally would.

    Take 3 shots of 151, wait 10 minutes and repeat. Do this 3-4 times daily for optimal results. You should start seeing serious gains within 1-2 weeks.
