totaled a bike wearing a frank thomas jacket, saved alot of skin.
the jacket was pretty heavy tho, more of a winter jacket, nearly baked me in the summer

Cycle Gear being the only importer means I'm fucked on getting a better price than 230 bucks. :rant2:

Oh well. This is the jacket:

why do you care how good the jacket is, if you plan on wearing a brain bucket anyways?

So you idea is because he wears a half helmet he shouldn't wear any other gear?

So you cover every piece of our body with armor right?

We all make a decision on what gear to wear. Half helmet is better than no helmet right? Hell it is even DOT approved.

    You can pick a place:

Or you can get it from Amazon for $89.xx

It's called the Bell Drifter Combat Helmet.

As for the brain bucket comment, it's for hot weather/school riding. I have a limited amount of space to be carrying books, laptop and gear. Usually I rock a Fieldsheer High Flow jacket and an AFX modular helmet.

I do. abrasion resistant everywhere, pads (and thicker material) on knees/elbows/shoulders, back protector too.

Congrats! I can imagine that is a pain when running down to the corner store to pick up something.

i didn't say he shouldn't wear other gear.

half is better than none, yes.

    you're missing my point.

he was asking if it was worth a damn, but then gets a half helmet. i'm just saying that in a crash it wont matter if the leather was worth a damn if his face is dragging along the highway.

any gear > no gear. you are right. i think you just missed my point was all

what does having limited space for carrying stuff have to do with you're choice of half/full helmet :dunno:

and i ride to school with full face...and its fucking hot here. in fact its so hot here i'd prefer to have a full face so that hot air is not blowing on my face while im riding :o

Yes he was asking about the quality of the jacket. I don't see where his choice of helmet changes anything.

Just because he wears a half helmet doesn't mean he shouldn't care about the quality of the other gear he wears. I'm sure he and I both know with our choice of helmet and a major crash we are pretty much SOL but if he goes down for something minor a good jacket can be a great thing.

I have heard good things about the Jackets. Decent/good things about 1 and 2 piece suits, THE GLOVES SUCK. HOLY FUCK, I have a 2 piece Frank Thomas suit and it seems quality for the price. The gloves suck fat dick, not sure about their new kangaroo palmed line up though.

So, apparently, Cycle Gear Corporate is ordering one from the UK, in my size, direct to my local store, earmarked for me, after I called them yesterday. That is pretty fucking cool. We'll see how this works out.

I have a Titanium leather jacket that I bought last year here in NC. Cycle Gear had it on sale. It is fully armoured and vented and has a great liner. I think I paid $275? Great deal IMHO.
