I'm looking to get one. It will be my first DSLR camera so I will be a complete noob :)

I can get it for about $650 with the kit lens. Is that good?

The Rebel is a great camera for first time SLR users. I bought one and I can't recommend it enough :)

Yeah it's not bad. It's not very sharp in certain areas but it's a good lens to start you off with, and as it's virtually free as a part of the kit you can't go wrong.

I'd get the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens too. Fantastic lens for £70 :)

Even though you already ordered it, I love mine. I learned a lot in the 5 months I've had it. I won a contest with the kit lens that payed for nearly half of the total cost of the camera, and no, I'm not saying that the equipment makes the shot. There are certain things I wish the camera could do, but I can get by without it....for now.

I farted with a digireb once and totally hated it. To each his own, but it just felt funny to me. I'm nikon loyal though, so I'm probably pretty damn biased in the end. The built-in flash had recoil when it came up.. that's a no no, IMO.

When I hit the button it felt like it wanted to take the cam out of my hand! Just too hard-sprung and too heavy. On the d70 it's refreshing, just a little click and it's up. On the 300d it felt and sounded like a gunshot, and it just sounded like it'd break itself eventually or something. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but I like to think I'm right. It's good for my self esteem :hsd:

Note: I think :hsd: is dancing to my powerman 5000 I'm listening to. So cool.
