the guy i ordered my chrome lined middy upper from has a non-lined one in stock that i can have or i can wait for the one i ordered. i think its been about 4 weeks so it should only be a couple more (?:x:) but i'm just wondering if it's worth the wait

    from what i understand
Chrome Lined: Better corrosion protection + Longer life - Accuracy
Normal: Better accuracy - normal life - normal corrosion

corrosion should be a non-issue as long as it gets cleaned?

i doubt i'll be putting enough rounds through it to worry about the life either :hs:

There is no way I'd have an AR that wasn't chrome lined. Sure there's a bit of an accuracy drop but the point is reliability. Extraction problems with non chrome lined AR's are well documented. I've always been a little surprised that RRA even offers barrels without chrome lining.

Not to mention that if you decide to sell your rifle, it'll be a lot easier to sell if it's chrome lined. My .02

Chromelined ftw! Also easier to clean.

The whole accuracy issue. It's pretty minimal. Odds are, it's still more accurate than you.

Go chrome lined, unless your bench shooting at 600 meters+ the benefits outweigh the negative

  8. Are the stuff the soldiers used chrome lined?

And if you're shooting those ranges, you should be using a good SS barrel, not a generic RRA chrom-moly mass market barrel.
