I fucked up the muscle behind my left shoulder blade on my back (someone drove their shoulder into while training Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I am 21 and to young to have back problems.

Anyways, my question is what can I do to help the recovery process? It still hurts 2-3 months after it happened. What kind of stretches, or any other kind of motion will be beneficial to healing?

    Possibly rotator cuff/infraspinatus.

Depending where in relation to your shoulder blade it could be your rhomboids or teres minor/major too.

I've injured my rotator cuff and had pain near my rhomboid as well... It wasn't bad enough to need any kind of physical therapy, kinda went away on it's own. But as with any other injury I've sustained, simply training it and building up the supporting muscles around it has aleviated any and all pain from that area.

If its a sharp pain then its a pinched nerve. Go see a Chiropractor.

I got a really bad sprained ankle and it took about 3 months until I could run on it completely normally and another month or two until I was 100% in terms of utility. It took 2 years be 100% back to normal (no clicking/popping/pain of any kind...ever).

I got a really bad dislocated shoulder (my arm was freely dangling behind my back, it completely popped out) and to this day I don't have full flexibility (but recently it's gotten as good as 90% I'd say) but I don't have any pain at all and my shoulders are one of my strongest body parts.

I cracked a rib and it didn't take very long to get back into the gym after that but to this day I'll agitate it every so often and it will hurt for a few days (last time it happened was when I PUSHED myself doing shrugs with a weight I usually do for 8-10 and pushed all the way to 15 and my form slipped on the last rep).

I hurt my rotator cuff and this one is the only one that seems to reappear somewhat frequently. I can't hit full ROM when benching with a barbell except for warmup sets, but beyond that I don't really get any pain from it either.

There's a few more but these are the most relevant.

Just take your time getting back into it, try to work on other things in the gym that don't bother it. Injuries are healed by time and mental power, beyond that you can just eat well, sleep a lot, drink a lot of water, and wait.

Diagnosing anything like this over the internet is impossible.

    Go and see someone.

I saw a doctor 2-3 months ago, and he said it was the muscle. It should go away on its own. but it hasnt. I dont want anyone to diagnose anything, I just want possible remedies.

What Ive noticed with doctors is that they tend to over look ALOT of shit.

I mean put your self in their place, you have an office with about five 60+ year old people coming in with problems up the ass right around your appointment time and some 20 year old kid walks in who is in terrific shape you would probably have a sense of relief as you are one of the easy ones of the day.

I separated my shoulder playing football and all the doctor said to me was give it 6 weeks and ice it. I had to go to my chiropractor to find out that my shoulder was separated. He popped it back in place and it was much better, still had to sit out a month though.

You can say its just a stupid fucking doctor but Ive heard the same stories on many accounts.

I might have posted a few tips till I read this

you can't remedy something without a diagnosis, unless you want blind guesses

do physical therapy. At your age, with good PT you should be back in the game, with no long term effects, in no time.

why cant you just help me? I realize a diagnostic over the internet is impossible, which is why id rather not concentrate on that, but some real life methods that i can use to relive my pain?

GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. Try a chiro who specializes in ART or PT/Sports Injury type stuff. We can't help you.
