I'm giving real serious thought to buying 3-4 "Multi" stamped and stripped lowers for future use. I'd like some WMD opinion on Anvil Arms.

I'm also considering acquiring a lower in .308 (from someone who makes them, haven't researched), though I know that will take a different lower because of the length of the cartridge.

    Talk to meh.

  2. As far as lowers go, they're all pretty much the same. There are only a few places that actually make the lowers, and the final machining is done by whoever puts their name on them.

I've heard good things about AA.

I'd just stick with the popular names and whatever roll-mark you like.

don't pay more than $100 for a stripped lower. they're all basically the same. I've never had any problems with the 8 Stag lowers I've used to build my own and others'

    This.

It's hard for anyone to screw up a lower receiver.

I wouldn't buy from them again, the owner is a douche.

Multi stamped is meaningless unless you just think the word multi is cool. Buy something cheap. I'd buy the $80 ones from aim.

I've got a buddy who has one..... There was a guy at a gunshow blowing them out a while back and he picked up a couple.

Same/Same as just about any other lower.... My Essential Arms lower is the same, as are my RR/DPMS/Colt/DoubleStar. About the only lower I've noticed that looked noticeably "cleaner" (with the exception of billet deals) was from Mega. Their stuff was pretty crisp.

If going the AR-10 route, there are a couple different avenues depending on what kind of magazines you want to run, and what you are doing. I haven't built one myself, but hear from people who have that they are much more finicky by nature, and getting one to run yourself can be a challenge. I'd ask around if you wanting to go that route, and consider investing in a good AR-10 guy to help you out.

I'm banking on more stupid restrictions by stupid liberals in the future, so "multi" is desirable to me. Does it cost anything more? No.

The ARs fielded by our security force are Colts and Bushmasters. :hsugh:

Yes, I see what you did there.

The owner is definitely an asshole. The products are good, but I'd rather find someone else that actually WANTS to sell goods to customers.
