Sorry for all my stupid questions lately, first of all.

I'm gonna be traveling to a lot of places soon that dont allow tripods, but a monopod is allowed. I was thinking of getting one anyway since they are so compact. Does it really help steady the shot considerably? Obviously not on the level of a tripod of course, but I've never used a monopod.

    Thanks

    was looking at this, btw

    yes they are worth it

I really need to get one, whenever I find myself needing one I'm all ghetto and just use one leg on my tripod

they're worth it, but can also be a burden as well...vertical shots are non existent with one on the camera unless you hold the pole while shooting. i'd get one, but know what you're shooting beforehand.

Unless you have really shaky hands or are shooting with a very heavy and long lens, not really.
