I'm a broke ass college student moving out and I want to buy a dell dimension desktop 2400 since the price is affordable especially with the rebate $399. I want to play some games so I was wondering if I would be able to upgrade the video card to a geforce. I'd really appreciate any feedbck.

Most Dells do not have an AGP slot on their Mboard so I dont think so. Just look up what kind of motherbaord it has and go see if it has an AAGP slot available.

The better Dells DO have AGP slots. The 2400 is an entry level model and is not designed for video intensive tasks, thus the onboard video with no upgrade path.

I have the 2400, i got it part of that 200 dollar deal a couple months ago

it has 3 pci slots on it. and you can get a good pci card for about 5-10% compared to a agp card

i got one at best buy that had a rebate on it. like 128mb for 90 after rebate. i could be wrong on price

i use the internal video card for my second monitor.
just add some more memory for like 50 bux and its a great setup. i do alot of work on it, I use studio mx 2004 and a bunch of programs running at the same time. no problems so far :big grin:
