how many people think they will screw up Iron Man like some of the other classics (spiderman, x-men, ghost rider, fantastic four)

So far it looks really good, so i fail to see how they'd fuck it up.

I agree that Ghost Rider and FF got screwed up.
But I disagree that Spidey and X-Men where screwed up.
When these movies get made you have to allow some leeway.
It isn't that they have to dumb things down - or lighten things up. It is that you read a Spidey book and you have this long history in your head that you expect the book to stick too, and they normally do too.
But when they make these movies they can't rely on that stuff. Inside jokes have to be carefully done so as not to loose new people in the audience.

These movies will always suck for us comic book geeks :hs:

Those people who don't care about little details seem to always enjoy them :o

I wasn't real happy with the last one. But I enjoyed the first two.

Maybe you are just the kind of person that is completly unable to enjoy a movie like that?
Are you hypercritical? Do you need to learn to loosen up?

Average movie goer doesn't care that Spidey has organic webs instead of his shooters. They don't care that the Phoenix wasn't an alternate personality of Jean Grey ( :ugh: ), nor do they care that Galactus isn't some random ass storm cloud.

It sucks that we most likely won't get a comic film that is 100% true to the originals (with some exceptions like Sin City), but what they've produced so far is pretty good. Especially considering in Hollywood just a few years ago, nobody would touch comic properties with a 10ft pole.

Xmen was REALLY fucked up to me. If someone came along to make those movies all over again and didnt aim for the little kid audience id be happy.... Kinda like the new batmans being done. They arent aiming for kids and the movie is awesome.

I was completely deceived by the spidey 3 trailers when they showed a dark and serious story line, so i hope they're not doing the same with this one.

Hopefully ironman follows along the lines of batman beyond, but it will probably just be another marvel comedy (spidey3, fantastic four, etc.)

I didn't mind the spidey movies too much. The X-Men movies I enjoyed a lot though. I love the X-Men and I enjoyed seeing a big screen interpretation of things.

Storylines like the Phoenix, etc must be changed for movies because they are far too intricate and complicated to tell in movies. That is just something that must be accepted when a movie adaptation of a comic book is created.

I hate batman beyond. I cant stand that goofy bloated animation. I'm not all the big on kids cartoons anyway.

no, I enjoyed transformers and it was NOTHING like the originals, so your theory is null and void.

The spidey movies would have been great with a different director and no tobey. Yeah he looked the part, but his acting is fucking lousy for a wise cracking fun loving character.

    X3 just felt rushed

i liked all of those 90s DC comics animated shows. in comparison to some of the other cartoons out at the time, the art was cool and detailed. granted, after the original 90s Batman cartoon, the animation did start to get simpler and boring.

as for the comic movies: i loved spider-man 2, thought X2 was the best from that series, hulk was a letdown, F4 was a joke, and batman begins was great. the iron man promos look good so i'm holding out that it'll be one of the better marvel movies.
