Why do you want to use irc anonymously?

  3. to have an anonymous private conversation with someone who's not physically proximate to myself. duh.

In that case, you should be able to use any irc client you want. Just find a free proxy server that supports connections on port 6667, or whatever port your irc server in question uses.

a lot of IRC servers will not allow you to connect through a proxy. So unless you've found one which does, good luck.
