98 8 x 57mm caliber rifle. WWII model 98 with matching bolt and stock. Iraqi property mark on barrel and receiver. Floorplate and trigger guard are renumbered (probably by Iraqis) to match the gun. Very interesting rifle! $598.50

Probably bought them or they were given to them post WWII. Alot of countries used surplus WWII equipment.

At the end of WW2that shit flowed threw out countries like it was going out of style. The Republican Guard bought a bunch to go to town on the Jews in 1948.

And from the picture, they look pretty damn decent to boot.

Id buy one if I wasnt saving up for a car right now
Just make sure they have the right address. They put North Van Buren isntead of South on the package and it took two and a half weeks for my Mosin to arrive :hs:

strange that the nazi proof marks are still on an iraqi rifle.

the manufacturer was ERMA- S/27, 1937

    What do the Iraqis care?

The Russians didn't even bother to ping out all the swastikas during the war.

I know the Israelis had some 98Ks they got a hold of, I wonder what they did :o

Syria even bought German tanks after WWII. They fought Israel, their Panzers vs. Israelis Shermans.

    WWII Redux.
